Alaska Blues Core grew out of the passion for the Blues, by 5 musicians, coming from different musical directions, from funk to jazz.....Everyone of them has at least 25 years experience in playing music, always trying to find the "special edge' in different styles and songs.

Barry Johnson on drums, drumming with a wide range of groups and styles in Alaska since 1982.

Karl Wilhelmi on bass, connected to jazz and a passion for the structure of music.

Gary Lamar on guitar, after playing for many years in different bands, gaining experience in live music, now back to the roots of the Blues.

"German" Mike Pielorz , addicted to the Blues for 50 years now, followed the British Blues invasion of Clapton, Peter Green and John Mayall. He brings this style out by string bending, a special tone and by concentrating on a soulful style with lots of feeling.

And last but not least , Kenny Blackwell on saxophone , flute and congas. With an outstanding voice and a great feeling for rhythm he knows how to get the connection with the audience.

These 5 guys have come up with their own style of Contemporary Blues , entertaining, full of musical highlights and a great way to bring out the rhythm to dance to!
